We aim to empower.
Hello! With over 30 years combined experience in Senior housing operations and sales, we know a thing or two about how to maximize the potential of a senior living community. With a heart for helping, and knowledge in managing retirement communities AND boosting sales, we can help you.
Our Story:
We believe in helping Seniors navigate aging. This time period is filled with many emotions and can be taxing on a Senior Citizen when they just want to feel clarity and confidence in their day to day.
Our goal is to help adult children & organizations change the way we interact with Senior Citizens. Ensuring we communicate respect, autonomy and become a guide as they explore change.
Believe it or not, we’ve witness incredibly high occupancy rates and Seniors itching to move in, when we make the process more about THEM than US.
Senior Living Sales people often:
We believe in this instead:
- Tell people what to do
- Take the side of change (Surprisingly, this does NOT help people change, it has the opposite effect)
- Focus on their community benefits
- Talk at Senior citizens
- Evoke from Seniors THEIR feelings, ideas thoughts on change
- Focus on helping them create their own plan
- Listen more than talk
- Understand the right stage of change to showcase their community
This values based approach (and Evidence based practice) of Motivational Interviewing changes the way we interact with others. Offering communication that is filled with respect, curiosity, empowerment and support.

Motivational Interviewing
Have you heard of this before? This evidence based practice is well known within the healthcare industry and doctors as a method of communication that increases the likelihood of positive change.
It’s an innovative and trendsetting skillset within the Senior Living Industry. Helping Sales teams to learn how to really help seniors navigate their own feelings on change. Which we’ve seen for over a decade will increase occupancy and referrals.

Utilizing a Sales process
Would you like to increase your revenue by 18%? According to The Havard Business Review, companies that have a formal sales process have 18% more revenue. Check out the full article HERE.
Utilizing a proven sales process in sales is well known to increase sales and therefore occupancy. Want to continue seeing sales growth in your organization? According to The Brevet group, “Continuous training gives 50% higher net sales per employee.” (Check out the full article HERE)
Why does continuous sales training matter? As someone who benefited from yearly sales training the first 4 years of my career I can attest too the ENERGY sales training gives you. Gaining new information, new tools to use, new ways to improve yourself. Although after the 4 year mark the availability for annual sales training ended, luckily due to our skills and consistant sales staffing-our occupancy stayed high. But our energy, that started to dwindle over time.

Meet us:
Chad:
Chad Mundy has been a leader in Seniors Housing operations for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in operating Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care facilities, as well as in leadership roles in clinics and hospitals. His acumen and passion for seniors and healthcare have given him the skillsets necessary to lead in this industry, helping companies translate their business goals to reality. Chad holds an MBA in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific, a BS in Long Term Healthcare, and a BBA.
The practice of Motivational Interviewing completely revolutionized his interactions and process when working with potential residents. Prior to learning these techniques and using them in practice, I realized now that so many times when I thought I was doing a great job connecting with potential residents and instead was creating the opposite affect by creating unintentional barriers. One of the most exciting parts of learning the skills of motivational interviewing is you can use these techniques successfully in your everyday life.
Tami:
Tami graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication. She has worked in sales and closely with Executive Directors throughout her career. Starting as the sales assistant, but quickly moving into sales she realized her passion for helping seniors to think about THRIVING vs. SURVIVING and coaching them on how to create and live LIFE, even in their 80’s. She began growing her skillset in Motivational Interviewing in 2011, when her Executive Director and sales team learned Motivational Interviewing. After formal training everyone witnessed some drastic changes in occupancy and sales growth. That was the beginning of the consistent 95% and above occupancy. After 7 years in sales, Tami moved on to the Director of Sales and Hospitality and along with the VP of sales, oversaw sales, training and occupancy for her company.
In 2023 Tami and Chad reconnected over the love of Motivational Interviewing and decided to start Empowered Senior Living Solutions. Tami is passionate about this skill set as it aligns with her values of helping people make positive changes in their life.
