Let’s talk about the good and bad of referral agencies, especially for Senior Living Organizations.
Referral agencies bring in leads to Senior Housing communities, however you as the owner/operator of a community lose out on….1-3 months of rent (as payment for that lead), depending on their contract! That is a lot of revenue! Especially because most Senior Citizens are moving in during a health crisis, which means their stay with you might only be 6-9 months.
There’s a better way! Invest in a sales team with training that helps them navigate change with Senior Citizens.
When you do this (I know this from experience), not only can you cut out the expense of paying referral agencies, you can attract senior citizens BEFORE their health crisis. Which means they stay longer in your community.
Plus, whether you operate Independent living or assisted living, you foster such a great relationship during the sales process, that your residents bring you referrals.
